Onboarding

Onboarding

Didn't find your answer?

I have just come across this phrase which is apparently used in the accounting world.  I had to have it explained to me.

Has anyone else come across this phrase and if you have not what do you think it means.

If you google it you will see it's nothing to do with accountancy as such, any more than it is to do with any other particular profession or industry that might recruit staff.

Surfing surely

When you're riding the wave you're onboarding. When you wipe out, you're offboarding.

I think it's more to do with acclimatising new employees so they quickly become and feel valued members of the team.

Idiom

From the idiom to bring on board no doubt. Not just taking someone on but getting them to embrace the ethos of the new employer.
