Online Downtime

Didn't find your answer?

Apologies if I have already missed the relevant announcement bit it's Sunday after a very long week!!

Do we know yet when HMRC are shutting down for the year end changeover?

I seem to remember quite a long period last year  but can't find anything on the website - needless to say I suppose my bookmark doesn't work now.

Stack update

There is a technical update expected to the live service on the weekend of 25/26 April which is to upgrade the Government Gateway software stacks.  This date has not been confirmed yet, and is an infrastructure upgrade not necessarily related to the SA update.

My guess is that the SA update will take place over the weekend of 4/5 April but have not seen any notification yet.

HMRC have now advised that further updates to the live channel will now happen overnight between 28/29 April (not 25/26 as previously advised).

Also, plans to drop support for SSLv3.0 on the Gateway have now been postponed to allow users more time to upgrade legacy systems.

Time now confirmed

As we suspected, HMRC have now confirmed that the 2015 SA update will take place between 1pm on Saturday 4th April and 3am on Monday 6th April, during which time the service will be unavailable.

EDIT: and of course PAYE/RTI at the same time:

PAYE Basic Tools

2015/16 update now available.

Seems to default to claim employers allowance.

Under 21 NI Category doesn't give a warning - anyone got a link to category explanations that make sense? HMRC link confuses me
