P11d headache - am I missing something

P11d headache - am I missing something

Didn't find your answer?

Hi

I have a P11d headache and I only have one to do! I just want to fill a form in and send it in the post but I can't for the life of me find one on the HMRC website that I can print off and complete. The only link is to an online one that won't let me fill in the employees date of birth and the cc of the car and then just won't let me move forward with it.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Very curious ....

See what you mean - they keep throwing you into an on-line version

However, a paper facsimilie version must exist because they provide developers with a PDF file for the P11D (2013)

- the name of the developers copy is P11D (2013) DV0.1.pdf

Phone HMRC & ask what is going on

Frankly HMRC are generally rubbish at producing their own software products despite having the inside track

You need to phone for a hard copy

 P11D guide 2012/13 says

Manual versions of the returns are available from the

Employer Orderline. To get these phone 08457 646 646.

You can find more detailed information on completing the

returns in the booklets (which are also on the internet)

P11d pains

I'm having a similar problem, having a couple of dozen one liner P11ds to submit, and have wasted the last 2 1/2 hours trying to use the new online form (or find a paper form to download). Having keyed all the data several times, I simply can't get it to either "Save & Print" or "Submit" through the gateway.  If it submits at all, it comes back as rejected with a suggestion that I try again later.  (I know the credentials are correct, having tested them, and have tried the form on different browsers.)

I'm not impressed, it appears I will have to call the orderline to get paper forms and start over again the task that usually takes about 45 minutes including enveloping up the forms for handing out to the team.

If there is a more obvious answer to what is going wrong, I would be very grateful if someone would share it.  Thanks

P11D and problems online

Yes, we have had the same problems.  However, if you are the agent, or the actual employer and have your online government gateway code etc., you can access the PAYE online.  From there PAYE for Employers – File PAYE returns and Forms Online – Use employee from list that needs P11D – then you will see that you can complete the form P11D/P9D – on completion print out first and check (get client to sign) – then file online.  Go back to employee, click, see employee actions – go to view and print submitted forms and print out employee’s copy.

Sorry if this is long winded – we have gone round in circles with this and there are several posts that I intend to put this answer on as lots of people having problems – see one thread marked – Basic PAYE Tools drops P11D Functionality – there the online HMRC desk is of no help!!

Hope this is helpful to you.

P11D basic form

Hi

I've had the same problem and have had to order the form from the orderline, but they said it may take up to 7 working days!

In the mean time I also found this, but I am not sure if the form would be accepted by HMRC: http://www.gtax.co.uk/benefits/p11d/p11dform/p11d2012-13.pdf

Does anyone know if that is the correct form to use? It matches last years, albeit updated for 2012-13 dates etc.

Cheers

A paper version

Good old BDO have a 2012/13 P11D guide which has a copy of the paper P11D included in it. P11D(b) too.

Download it from http://www.bdo.uk.com/library/p11d-guide-2012

Great

Thanks TaxTeddy

The reference number on that version matches the one on the gtax website, so I think it's proabably the right form.

Thank's for the info.

I've had same problem with the P11d PDF, I was doubting it's use when 'save & print' wouldn't work, and when 'submit' did nothing I knew I'd wasted my time.

moneysoft

I know you'e looking for a manual solution but moneysoft paye (recommended by many on here) will produce as many as you want for printing out posting or filing online or try your tax software (digita will do it)

Thought it was me!!

Similar findings a couple weeks ago - rang HMRC & was told - there's a problem with the download - we don't know why??  (I wanted to say: It's a pdf - what's the problem?? but I bit my tongue!)

They posted me one out, which to be fair arrived within a week - but I was only allowed ONE -  I have to photocopy it.

Happily I only have 3 to do which even our old printer/copier should handle.

Then I found this:

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/2013/p11d.pdf

Shh, its a secret, even HMRC don't know it exists apparently!

You gotta smile.......

Similar story...

That sounds very familiar! When I called to query if the automatic PDF they use would fit our particular circumstances (the answer was no) they said I'd have to send them in on the old style forms, but could only get one from the order line! They knew that the simple PDF had been taken down but didn't know why.

Well don't for finding the one hidden on their website though! Looks exactly like the BDO/Gtax ones linked above which is reassuring.

I wonder what they'll do for 2013/14?

Still struggling

Thank you all for your comments. I have filled the one in on-line and then tried to click submit and it does nothing. Rang the HMRC helpline and they have said just keep trying all of the other employers are pressing submit at the same time....what!!!

I only work Mondays for my employer and I am going home now. So I'll have to leave my computer on and try and submit it remotely  :/

Must save form first

End of year Expenses and Benefits Forms (v1.2) 2012-13 should NOT be completed in the web browser.

The form must be saved as a pdf to the computer and then opened with a pdf reader and NOT in the web browser for it to work. You can then save and print and submit online using the buttons at the end of the form.

Not sure what to give to the employee though. Seems rather inefficient use of time to have to complete old P11d form as well.

Two years on same issue

Just completing 14/15 returns and tried using the form and have the same issues as mentioned previously. Tried opening and submitting in reader and still no joy. Was a fix ever established with the form?
