P60 from HMRC Basic Paye Tools

P60 from HMRC Basic Paye Tools

Didn't find your answer?

I have just updated to the latest version of HMRC Basic PAYE tools

When I try to print a P60 I get the following error message.

A form P60 End of Year Certificate cannot be generated for (2014-15) because the form for this tax year is not yet available.

Any ideas why not available?

I have had the same message

Maybe we need to wait until after the 5th April?

Have you upgraded the software? There was a prompt to do so this morning.

Have you filed the Final Submission for the tax year?

I've got the P60s for one client who uses Basic Tools in front of me now.

Version number

The version number should be something like 15.0.15048.300

If you have a version number beginning 14 then you do not have the 2015-16 software. If it will not update automatically then download the latest version manually from the HMRC website.

BMary - Yes, I have made the final submission for the year.

Triggle - No, I haven't upgraded the software, although I received a prompt from HMRC to do so, on 16 March, but I was unsure if I should wait until the P60s for 2014/15 had been printed off first.

Runningmate - I'll check the version number.

Thanks for your help.

Runningmate - It's version number 14 .........  so I shall download the latest version from HMRC's website which hopefully will solve the problem.

Same situation

I'm in the same situation. ( 'P60 not yet available' )    I downloaded the new version (15) to my mac, can see the file in my downloads, clicked and got "unpacking' progress bar, but the BPT still shows the old version 14.1.14168.197

In the settings tab, I clicked the update version box, but just get the message 'error occurred connecting to the update server'.

Spent much time hanging on the phone to HMRC, but can't get through

Any ideas ?

Same situation

Did you download the latest version from HMRC's website for mac and not via the update option in the software itself?

? Updates in order?

There was an update before the 5th April one which needed to be downloaded from scratch - not through the update service - for it to stop generating some error messages.

I downloaded that, and finished the year ends, before downloading 2015/16.

Everything works well now.

You could try

1. Backup data to an external drive or removable disk

2. Uninstall old version of HMRC Basic PAYE Tools (no need to delete data - if asked say NO)

3. Reboot

4. Install new version of HMRC PAYE Tools

5. If necessary restore data from backup

P60 from HMRC Basic Paye Tools

Like others I was left high and dry with the "P60 not yet available" error.  I followed the solution offered in earlier comments:-

(1) backup data  (2) manually download version 15 from HMRC site  (3) downloaded CAM unzip5 program to handle HMRC's file. (4) unzip'd the HMRC file  (5) installed version 15  (6) executed version 15 to find data all there and P60 AVAILABLE.

I hope the gory details help in some way.

Hi

I cannot print out my P60's for 2014/15 from the basic PAYE tools.  I can click on the employee but then I get the message 'The image file format has not been recognized' so frustrating!

Any suggestions anyone?

Software?

Mine open in Adobe reader - is yours still loaded?

For some reason last week my desktop lost flash completely, presumably after trying to upgrade

ive downloaded the one that says down load the latest version. its a zip file so i've done it again and my computer opens it with winrar. ive extracted and replaced files .  it goes into my downloads on hard drive. i can see it - ive managed to download it 3 times lol. then when i open up my payroll software oh now ive clicked on one of them and its now doing something lol.

why couldnt they just update it through the software package - fingers crossed im actually getting there x yeah its worked - sorry to ramble - bored stressed woman needing to talk lol xx

I don't know why it doesn't automatically update itself.  I rather suspect HMRC fouled up on the IT front (perish the thought!) but I'm no IT nerd so I can't say.

Automatic updates

have to be selected in the options. It is not the default.

Unfortunately, the last version for 2014/5 was to repair an error apparently in the  updating part as you had to go online and download as if starting from scratch, but obviously when you reopened all the data was already there.
