PAYE Pilot penalties

PAYE Pilot penalties

Didn't find your answer?

Hi there

A new client who was enrolled into the pilot for RTI. He has not filed anything at all (from last March)There are substantial penalties and I would appreciate any help with the best way to sort it out. Should we file all outstanding and send letter of appeal about penalties or should we ring them up first, has anyone else experienced this? How did you resolve it? Many thanks

2012/13 P35 & RTI for 2013/14

See this recent thread on a similar topic.

Apparently, you cannot now file an FPS for 2012/13, so your best option is to contact HMRC, ask them to change the RTI start date to 06.04.13, file a P35 for 2012/13 and tell the client that he has been a naughty boy and must pay the penalties.

For 2013/14, you can file late FPS reports without penalties.

This is unbeleivable!

So for helping out in the pilot you get penalties, but no penalties for 2013/14 to give everyone a chance to settle in?

Even more irritating

when you now know HMRC have delayed penalties until October 2014!

Thanks everyone, Ive spoken to client potential £1200 fines but HMRC said cant restart the scheme as he took a salary in Jan 13 and all we can do is file everthing to bring him up to date, I was then told we have the option to lodge an appeal within 30 days against the penalties. Not holding out much hope for the appeal though.
