Payroll Manager - issue with downloading PAYE codes

Payroll Manager - issue with downloading PAYE...

Didn't find your answer?

The error message is 'could not retrieve all notices - request failed. reason unknown. Incident reference XXXXXXXXX'

Does anyone else have this issue, and is there any way to resolve it? Moneysoft support say to contact HMRC, but the problem occurs with all clients I have in payroll manager.

A thought

Are you trying to download P9 coding notices for 2015/16 into your 2014/15 data file?

Tools / Download PAYE notices

Does "Tools / Download PAYE notices" in Payroll Manager do the same as HMRC's PAYE Desktop Viewer?

No problem with years
Payroll Manager downloads P6 and P9 all together and sorts into this year and next year by "effective from" date. So that isn't the issue. I have downloaded dozens over the last few days without an issue so must be something specific to you or your setup. Have you tried accessing the same notices in PDV?

Incident reference
The incident reference comes from HMRC and indicates that it's a problem on their end. You need to contact them directly and quote the incident references to resolve (or at least report) it. There isn't much your software provider can do except contact HMRC on your behalf, which isn't worthwhile unless you're getting nowhere yourself.

Make sure you get a ticket raised when you contact them and don't get fobbed off with "it'll fix itself", though sometimes these errors do indeed just disappear if you wait long enough.

Thanks all, I've discovered that notices do subsequently download, despite the error.

It is most likely something at HMRC's end - these are clients on my HMRC PAYE client list, so should not be an issue with authorisation as such, but could be if something is screwed up on HMRC's systems.

However, so long as I get the downloads I will ignore the message. Hopefully it will go away soon.
