Personal pension contributions

Personal pension contributions

Didn't find your answer?

A 45% taxpayer has been making personal pension contributions for her partner over the last few years, is there any way she could claim higher rate relief on them?

Her partner is a basic rate taxpayer.

Thanks in advance.

It's the person...

... in respect of whom the contribution is made that gets the relief.

Any reason why she is paying her partner's pension contributions rather than paying them into her own scheme to claim the extra relief?

Well that's because..
She already pays enough into her own.
