This is not so much a question, as a plea for signatories. As an accountant who has been 'holding up' the payroll department for my practice since the last tax year due to maternity leave, I have found imposition of RTI deadlines regularly inconvenient and problematic. Issues have arisen due to HMRC policies, communication (lack thereof) and overall I find the entire concept of RTI, whilst intended to solve another problem, has been implemented in haste and perhaps without HMRC having ironed out major related issues.
The discussions relating to RTI implementation have been numerous and lasting, so let's not have yet another.
A colleague of mine forwarded me this petition today, and I thought I would share for anyone interested.

I've signed this too, good to see the number is starting to increase.
I'm sure there are many other payroll professionals that would agree with this, we just need to spread the word further.
