The Pink Election Bus what do you think

The Pink Election Bus what do you think

Didn't find your answer?

Sorry had meant to put this in timeout.

Hi

Just throwing this out for discussion.  Some of you may have read about the labour parties pink bus and how it has caused outrage amongst men saying it is patronising to women and the Women against Pink saying they don,t like it.  Anyway everyone is supposed to be outraged .  Why

Well as a women who is very political I love pink.  I have a pink Jacket, pink runners , various shades of pink jumpers and other colours mind you.  I have a pink Laptop and Stapler.   Personally I love bright colours Orange , Bright Yellow , Bright Green. My Office chair is bright Orange.  I feel outraged that I am told I should not like Pink. I am joking about the outrage but I do like Pink , Purple they all shades off the same colour.

In the commonwealth games , they made loads of versions of pink tops for Women and they were a big seller.  If fact I was really please they had so many lovely colours to choose from instead of all the dark colours.  Rugby clubs do it as well , they is a lovely pink womens Leinster top.

In the referendum the yes movement had all the colours in the rainbow for the literature and badges.  I saw so many pink in the streets of Glasgow as well as all the others.    People make Glasgow which is all over Glasgow city and was broadcast over the world and hundreds of badges were all pink.  In a city that rains it it is a cheery colour.    If Harriotts bus is seen and Women and Men like the colour and it reminds them to vote for whoever then that is good thing.

What is more concerning is the amount of people who do not vote .   I have no objection to any Colour bus if reminds people they should vote.

I have no objection if they have a man to man bus.  It might encourage young men to take part in voting.  At this stage with such low voting turnout anything is worth a try.

Frankly I'm outraged that it's even a story.

I agree

The main part of this story really is about trying to attract female voters who stats show vote less then men.

Pink is quite an attractive colour and it seems especially so to some women. It is political correctness to make a story out of it. But then Harriet Harman is so politically correct. I could imagine her being vocal if it were another party's bus.

It's just spin

Somebody has to be outraged by what other parties are doing. It's par for the course with this election, which seems to be mostly knocking other parties and dragging up old history.

Anything that considers women as equal human beings with a brain and a vote (and not a brainless idiot who is just an attractive body (sex toy) slave tied to the kitchen sink), has to be good in my eyes. For those who are religious ... God gave us a brain, as well as a body!

Sorry! I'm not in the best of moods today!

Emily Pankhurst has a lot to answer for.

On a serious point it should not be a story. The real story is that how much is being frittered on the election. Or, as you refer above, what's all this positive discrimination about chasing  lady votes about?

What do I think?

Not very much and not very often.

I am fed up with politics, particularly politics with a Scottish accent, and I think that pink buses are not a suitable topic for Any Answers.

Not bothered by the pink bus in the slightest (and I'm female!)

What does bother me are women who cannot be bothered to engage enough in politics to the point they do not have an educated opinion and do not know/can't be bothered who to vote for, or even worse those that take no interest and then state 'oh I don't know, I'll just vote for whoever my husband/boyfriend does"

Drives me mad!

I think ...

... what on earth does this have to do with tax or accountancy?

What is the question?

And what does it have to do with accountancy?

Edit: Crossed with BKD

Absolute Discrimination

I'm outraged.

Why don't they have a beige bus for elderly voters?

Why don't they have a school bus for young voters?

Why don't they have a bus with a creche for working parents?

Why don't they have a red bus for London voters?

Why don't they have an articulated bus for well spoken middle class voters?

Why don't they have a Bio bus for those of ambiguous sexual orientation?

Why don't they have a trolley bus for supermarket workers?

I could go on......

Sorry I meant to put this in time out . Aweb have done the same

The Rugby six nations was in any answers, so I hope you will forgive me.   How ever the Pink Bus has nothing to do with Politics with a Scottish Accent.  I was merely pointing out all parties have used it at some point . The Pink Bus is a labour bus.

For the record I am not Scottish,

I totally agree with you Kamaz it is shocking the amount who do not engage.

My real surname is Needham as in maiden name which is on my passport.  As you know when you get married people call you my your married name which does not bother me but is just stuck with people but a lot of  my old friends from Dublin and London still call me Sarah Needham.  However I do love living in Scotland but I miss Dublin and London as well. They are all great places.
