Plumbing and Drainage Cover

Plumbing and Drainage Cover

Didn't find your answer?

Is there any reason why my client can't claim a deduction for 'Property and Drainage' cover that he has in respect of his rented property? This is separate from his BTL insurance?

Thanks

No reason why he cannot claim for an expense incurred on the let property.

If the insurance is to relieve him of future repair costs in certain circumstances, I can't see why a deduction shouldn't be available.

I do wonder what the "BTL insurance" covers, however. I suspect there may be some overlap although it may be that the drainage cover gives some protection from the obscure and illogical liabilities that can exist for drains beyond the property (eg gardens and beyond)(as I understand it).

I'd advise client speaks to an insurance broker to ensure there's no pointless overlap of cover.
