I am meeting a new client next week, who is power of attorney for an elderly relative (living in a care home). I will do my MLR checks on the power of attorney but do I need to do the same with the relative? (the work will be personal SA of the elderly relative). If I do, what can I use as they won't have a driving license and am not certain if they will have a passport.
What have others done in this circumstance?
thanks in advance

Resident in a care home
One option open to you is to write to the manager of the care home asking him to confirm that Mr XYZ, date of birth 12/34/56, is a resident there.
The reply would be sufficient to ID the elderly relative (unless there is something unusual about the case when you get into the detail - such as significant monies zooming off to tax havens without any credible explanation).
