Proof of being subject to UK tax

Proof of being subject to UK tax

Didn't find your answer?

Greek authorities want proof that a client of ours is a subject to UK tax.

Anything other than an SA302 we can give them?

Word of warning on UK Tax Certificates issued by HMRC

HMRC have been getting worse of late on the issuance of UK Tax Certificates and if these are required it may take a couple of months for them to be issued.

My advice would be to send of the SA302 if you have one to hand or apply for the SA302 and the tax certificate at the same time and send off whichever comes first (in my experience it will be the SA302).

Why there is such a bureaucratic nightmare of issuing a Tax Certificate I don't understand. It should be perfectly easy to fill in the details online and then sent off by HMRC (thus incurring postage delays and costs) or have a .PDF file generated with HMRC Digital Signature for onward e-mail to the client.

HMRC really is living in the dark ages. Where is the potential tax loss for issuing a tax certificate?
