Public sector pages

Public sector pages

Didn't find your answer?

Hello

Has anyone been contacted by Public Sector Pages - like Yellow Pages for public sector, but they also recommend you to public sector workers who have been made made redundant and now are re-engaged on a self employed basis. The fee appears to be £540 plus VAT per annum. They say they can generate 3-4 leads per month.

Any thoughts?

Thanks - SA

Eh?

I work in the public sector and I've never heard of this. Draw your own conclusions.

Yes

They phoned me and claimed to have top place in the search rankings - told me to put their details in google to prove it.

They were nowhere to be seen, so that was according to them my fault.  I must have done it wrong.  They phoned back to try again, and when it still didn't work she put the phone down on me!  It seems that their entire spiel was based on this probably irrelevant fact and once off script she was lost!

No way that I would have given them money anyway

similar scam - Blue Light Publications

A couple of months I had a phone call from someone representing a magazine called 'Blue Light' that was circulated to all police, fire, ambulance crews in the local area and offering cheap advertising.  I said I would think about if they sent me a copy of the last publication; nothing received so far and a google search provided a list of links to pages that alert people about scams.

If it sounds too good to be true...

Yes they rang me with promises of leads

Same experience as cloudcounter they said they were at the top of the search rankings. When it didn't work they told me that was because they had no accountants signed up in my area yet and to put in Cardiff so it would work. I never sign up to any cold calls but they were very very pushy - I think this about sums it up.

all went quiet

Had a call from these people this morning saying a local accountant had been crossed off their list and they urgently needed another in the area and would discount their fee to £540+vat, said I would think about it and was told they would send me an email with details on.

Did a google search and found this post.

Received an email from them which had conflicting information in therefore decided not to proceed.

Again said they were on top of Google search  but did not find them first time they gave me details to type in to google but did work second time.

They rang me and could not answer question, just went silent and did not answer when I spoke, not on the scipt as previous post mentioned, so hung up on them.

Google is very lucrative for businesses looking to increase their interest but can also be tempermental so i wouldnt take that as them not being a reputable business, more the google servers being as complex as they are.

I have been working with them for a duration of 17 months and have found their services very beneficial, admittedly business started slowly but I must say they increased my levels of business sufficiently and would recommend working with them. My partnership is due for renewal i believe at the end of this month, I will be renewing and working with them for another 6 months at least. I fully appreciate there is a lot of 'smog' surrounding online promoting but one thing they have always given me and stuck by is their return on investment guarantee, therefore if for any reason I didnt get business from them they would work for me for free until I did.

Hope this helps.
