Quickbooks question

I have a client who uses QBs pro 2005. I use QBs Pro 2012. He has given me his disc so I can use QBs 2005 on another computer to do his accounts as he doesn't want to upgrade. ProblemĀ  being that the disc will not load properly and he is now on holiday and I really want to get on with the accounts. The disc has a slight crack on it which I assume is causing the problems. Unless I can get QBs Pro 2005 I think I will have to upgrade it to my version to do the accounts and then redo all my entries onto his version on his computer when he gets back. Has anyone got any better ideas that I haven't thought about to avoid the duplication of processing any adjustments?

Thanks
