reduced rate VAT or not?

reduced rate VAT or not?

Didn't find your answer?

client is VAT registered main contractor engaged in converting previously unoccupied (for well over 2 years) building into new residence - the services they supply to owner will be reduced rate other than supply of blocked goods.

the question is should a kitchen supplier initially to the main contractor reduce rate their supply (other than the amount that relates to blocked goods) to the main contractor or should they charge standard rate most of which is recovered by MC who then reduce rates the onward supply?

Why can people not ask questions properly?

It matters to your question whether the "kitchen supplier" is just supply kitchen units or is also providing the service of incorporating them into the building as fixtures.

You did not bother to say.

thanks P

the kitchen supplier is doing everything:

furniture, worktops, sinks & fittings, electrical equipment & installation -

I think I know the answer now

the SC can reduce rate the supply to MC except on blocked goods provided no-one moves into the property

Rude
Yet another uber rude comment from PNL. Don't get it. Hope it's an online persona but equally hope she/he isn't like this in real life.

There are AW guidelines for posters. Seemingly ignored.

On the answer, yes, I agree with you.

PNL is making me extra careful with the precise wording of my posts (hence the edit)!

Rude?

Tell me Mr clever VAT Doctor, could you have answered the question without the information that I complained was absent?

Nick knows he was naughty and has promised to make an effort not to do it again.

Dignity
It's not a matter of being clever or not, just having some human kindness and tolerance.

I actually think it's not a persona. I just think some on here are rude and intolerant, which gets in the way of some excellent help.

I am just trying to be helpful and don't need to be rude to do it.

Personally

I would love to meet PNL in real life!! Rude or not the answers given are eminently professional and the character gives it a fun twist. If you cannot play along or are easily offended you should really stay away from the internet as a whole, but then where would you get free technical help?

Furniture - reduced rate VAT

As you lot are after perfecting your waffle and not giving advice to clients, don’t look at Notce 708 para 13.5 Furniture at:-

What you see is what you get with PNL.

If I asked a question with absent information and received the same response, I wouldn't take offence. In fact, I'd probably laugh.

Their strong technical ability outweighs the 'tone' of their answers.

If you can be easily offended by someone on a keyboard, probably many mile away from you, then internet forums probably aren't the place for you.
