Registered Office

Didn't find your answer?

I have just tried to change a Ltd Companies registered address from Wales to England using Companies House online portal but it would not accept the new address  as the company if registered in Wales and not the UK. Is this easy to change, if at all, and how do I go about it?

Easy

You need to submit a form AD05, to change the location of the registered office from Wales to England and Wales.

Pointless palaver, but it's easy to do.  Not sure if you can submit it online

"Wales" as a name may have problems

I'm living happily in Wales- one client wanted "Cymru" in his new Company Name. Reg Off in Wales, operations in Wales etc etc

Apparently it's a sensitive word and certain hoops have to be jumped through......

Hopefully someone with a bit of decency could help if you phoned Companies House. In Wales.

"Wales" as a name

Nothing to do with the OP's question, but all you have to do to get Wales as part of the name is convince Companies House that you are going to be trading in Wales.  One hoop and very easy to jump through.

Sheffield

"Sheffield" is a sensitive word.  Came as a bit of a surprise at the time but it's a steel industry thing, obviously.

You can't register a company in the UK obviously, and I certainly didn't realise that you could register one in Wales only.  Has the company got Wales in its name? Or Welsh or Cymru or something similar ?
