Hello
I am working in a restaurant as a supervisor while I study. My manager would like me to become assistant manager.
I am wondering if being an assistant manager gives me experience that are relevant in any way to accountancy.
We get financial audits so I need to be aware of what they check and what we need to do but will this experience
be benefitial in any way after I finish my studies and look for an accountancy job?
Thank you

All experience is good experience
It will give you a greater insight as to how businesses are managed, and the promotion will demonstrate that you have a good attitude, and aptitude, for work.
How can that not be beneficial?
Take it all in
Obviously it won't be contributing to everything as accountancy is so broad, but you have people management (deal with people whatever job you do), operational experience, risk, stock control, purchasing, cash management and payroll management, to name a few.
I found it difficult having the accountancy knowledge, then going to a clients but actually not having much of an idea of the operations and how the business works. So keep doing what your doing and take it all in.
