RTI

RTI

Didn't find your answer?

Hi all

I've just picked up a new client who, in an effort to save costs decided to operate their own payroll.  While they were correctly operating and paying the staff, the director had no idea he was required to actually submit this information to HMRC via RTI.

They've since agreed that I should take over from now on and have asked me to back date this also.  My question is, will I have to submit and RTI for each employee for each week or can I do one year to date submission and then carry it on from there?  Also I take it there will be no penalties to worry about until October?

Fortunately the employees have all agreed to change to 4 weekly pay from now on.

Thanks

How many staff?

If it is 9 or fewer, you could avail yourself of the concession for micro employers that you only have to file one FPS a month on or before the last payday in a tax month.  That would reduce it to only 3 late FPS reports and I think that you should file monthly reports if only to identify the PAYE due for each month.
