RTI Annual Scheme Query

RTI Annual Scheme Query

Didn't find your answer?

Dear All,

Apologies in advance if this is a daft question, but is there a tick box or something within Moneysoft's Payroll Manager  to mark the employer as having an annual scheme?  We have a few clients who have annual schemes and I have looked for a tick box but I cannot find anything.  Under the annual scheme, we would only have to send 1 FPS when the directors were paid their annual salary and then the final EPS for the EOY summary but if I do that, Moneysoft says that there are RTI returns (FPS's) that we have not filed  & need filing?

Many thanks in advance for you advice & help.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know that Moneysoft have a very good helpline: 08456 444 555.  If you've paid for the software, the helpline is free.

Not supported

Moneysoft doesn't currently support annual schemes. I used it to produce the reports and payslips but then filed returns using HMRC's Basic PAYE Tools.

Moneysoft said they may add annual schemes at a later date, nothing definite.

More Trouble than They're Worth ?

I've come to the conclusion - after much consideration - that it's a lot easier to run monthly payrolls.

Particularly with Moneysoft's RTI batch processor which allows you to file the monthly FPSs for a whole batch of clients with just a couple of mouse clicks.  If you really have only one salary payment a year, you can set up the payment in one month and file nil FPSs for every other month or if, as is often the case, the director actually draws salary every month, you can file the required monthly FPSs.  No need to run a payroll or print off payslips if the amount is constant - just file the FPSs.

But if you really do have one annual payment and an annual PAYE scheme, use Basic PAYE Tools for the one FPS and one EOY declaration in the tax year.

Easier Life

I just read the myriad queries on here from people who have splendid wheezes to make life easier and wonder why they make life so hard for themselves.
