Hello
I submitted a form SA1 on 8 April 2015.
I have just telephoned HMRC and was told that the expected reply date would be around 26 June (He did not say what year!!)
Has anyone else experienced such slow turn around times for an SA1? We normally get a response within around 4 weeks
Thanks

Yes they seemed to have slowed down, we are in the experimental stage of trying to file them online now.
Are you completing the paper form? We've been submitting (or getting clients to submit) online from here. Unsure what average turnaround times are, but I'd suggest less than 4 weeks.
Have tried to do the modern way - the link from Maslins refers - twice in the last few weeks.
Both times I had email - automated of course - from HMRC saying it "can't be processed" as there is a live record. Both clients, ie new companies, new directors, swear blind they've never done TR before.
So had to complete paper forms. 10 weeks hey???
Why so late?
Absolutely shocking
The online application does not give you any indication as to how/or when they will respond to the application, unless I missed it.
Client desperately needs to complete an SAR for a mortgage application
The client is only now telling HMRC that they are self employed? How long have they been self employed for? Have they got the accounts and other data ready?
No sympathy.

There are many reasons why HMRC should smarten up their act.
Fast-tracking SARs to provide proof of income for a mortgage application is not one of those reasons.
OK
So they have all the information ready?
HMRC work at their own speed. All taxpayers can do is to all they can to get things started as soon as possible. I would assume the taxpayer didn't consider what would be needed by the mortgage lender to get the finance. Can't the taxpayer explain that some information will not be available until later and ask them to accept a P60? I assume that the rental income profits are not significant.
