Sage 50 Construction and Sage Housebuilding

Sage 50 Construction and Sage Housebuilding

Didn't find your answer?

Hi,

I hope someone (hopefully a few people) will help me with regard to the following:

I am considering upgrading the current costing system from Sage 50 to Sage 50 construction or Sage Housebuilding. The company in question is a property developer, with a small project portfolio currently but with big plans for expansion.

I would like to know if anyone uses either of these Sage packages and if so what they think about them with regard to any of the below topics (in fact, any comments about the software are appreciated, whether related to the below topics or not):

> Cost management and reporting

> Budgeting

> Forecasting

> Increasing profitability

> Cost – how much does it cost? (Cannot find this information anywhere)

> Comparability to Sage 50 (what are the added extras? Is it a no-brainer to upgrade to one of these programs?)

> General reporting (for management/directors who are more construction than accounting savvy and are more interesting in cost control and budgets etc)

> Ability to create a library of contractor/material rates within the quotations module, potentially for use as a reference to identify the most cost effective (while providing a quality, accurate service) suppliers

> Usability by management (inexperienced Sage users), if say they wanted to access profitability or cost control reports themselves

Thanks to all who are willing to offer some useful and unbiased reviews and comments.

Sage 50 Construction

I've used Sage 50 with the CIS module only which I found much easier that dealing with verification manually.

As with any software package, it really depends on what you plan to do.

I would say phone Sage and have a detailed discussion with them, their sales team is very knowledgeable and not too pushy......
