I have been approached by a prospective client who has excel data to be imported into Sage from April 2014 to date.
I could require some assistance in uploading the data and any pitfalls to look out for.

There are a number of import templates available - you can download them from the Help page that puzzel has suggested.
A little more information
Hi Lloyd,
A little more information about the nature of the information to be imported would be helpful if you are looking for something more than very generic responses. If we can grasp the task in hand we may be able to give a more detailed response. There are a number of firms that specialise in importing data that Sage's templates can't handle. There's probably a solution out there, but we need to know the problem first.
Warm regards,
Ian

Sage import
Hi Lloyd,
I can help you with importing excel files into Sage
It can be a little complicated if you are using an old version of Sage is, but it is quite straightforward in newer versions, as it's just a case of making sure you have the right columns in excel. then mapping them into Sage. Also knowing what transaction types will and will not import
PM me if you'd like me to help

Start here...
In previous years our contributor David Carter plumbed all aspects of Sage data import in a series of tutorials for our ExcelZone.
Some of them may be out of date, but hopefully the principles may still help. The main topics he covered were:
Exporting data from Sage Line 50 into Excel (Part 2 of 2; includes a comment about Sage Integrated Reproting)MS Query: How to set up Import External Data for Sage 50Want to learn about Excel pivot tables? Start here (if you want to produce summary reports)Create a P&L from transactions with a pivot table
Hope these tutorials help. Let us know how you get on and if you bump into any specific roadblocks with the versions of Excel and Sage you're using, I'm sure some of our ExcelZone experts will be on hand to help.
I wouldn't start there John.
The question was about Excel to Sage, not Sage to Excel, which is the subject of David's articles. Nevertheless, the articles are certainly worth a read.
Warm regards,
Ian
