Sage Payroll calculating negative pay

I used to use IRIS PAYE Master and it used to show a message to the effect ' you can't have negative net pay' and would exclude the particular individual from the payroll report.

I now use Sage and it seems negative pay can and does appear, and with no warning! Does anyone else have experience of this.

I would be interested in Tom Of 12Pay's view - what are the HMRC accreditation requirements for this?
