Hi I'm sure this question has been answered a large number of times before, but I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on whether or not I am being paid enough.
This is due to my employer actually bringing up the subject and asking if she paid me enough.
Here's some more information for you:
I'm 21 in June.
Have been working in practice in Rochester, Kent for 2.5 years. In this time I have completed an NVQ in Business Admin and my Level 2 AAT, currently nearing the end of my Level 3 AAT which my employer is paying for.
I do pretty much everything, bookkeeping, VAT returns, SA Accounts, tax returns, company accounts, bits of CIS, run all sorts of admin and email reminders for clients, I also occasionally visit clients as well as man the office on my own.
It's only a tiny company of 4 people.
I'm currently on £12,896.00 (£6.20 per hour).
Me and my employer discussed this and neither of us really knew what the going rate was, bit thought this would be a good port of call.
Any information or advice would be great.
Thanks
H

Seems a little on the low side
I would expect to pay between £15k and £20k to someone of this level. I'm in the south east.

Not enough!
I'd say my job role is very similar to yours in that I do a bit of everything as I'm also in an office with very few staff. I'm qualified to the same level, a bit older than you but still in my 20s and am in the South East (not London). I'm on £21,000 which I think is a fair salary. Minimum wage is no where near enough for a job that involves skilled work.
