Self employed with no business expense

Self employed with no business expense

Didn't find your answer?

I am self employed. I didn't have any business related expenses as listed in the HMRC website.

Is it mandatory to show any such expense in order to file tax return?

There are expenses you could claim that you probably do not realise.

I bet any accountancy fee would at least equate to the tax saved and therefore effectively your life is made a lot easier without any real cost!

Not true you will have some allowable expenses

What about:

1. Use of home?

2. Telephone?

3. Printing and stationery?

4. Motor and travel expenses?

Probably others depending on what you do!

Is it self employment?

I find it hard to conceive of an activity of self employment, either trade or profession, that has  no attributable costs.

IMHO this might indicate/suggest that there is no trade/profession , just an employment. (Absence of one of the badges of trade, for a start)

What about bank charges, to add to the list above?
