shredding service

shredding service

Didn't find your answer?

Hi All

I am looking to use a shredding service as its too much to do ourselves now.

All the ones i look at have a minimum charge for collection which makes it a tad expensive.

Then got a call from Rapide who as long as you have 6 sacks do not charge a penny! They make their money from selling the paper.

Does any one use these? If so does it work well for you.

Cheers, enjoy the sun!

I use homeshred too. Very good customer service and I thought the price was reasonable. Much easier than doing your own shredding.

6 sacks is fine if you've got a lot of shredding or have enough room to store them until they are all full. I had 5 sacks to start, but now just have 2 at a time.

We use a company called Shred on Site and are really happy with the level of service we have had from them:

Look local

I use a local firm near to me and they will collect or I can drop them off and even watch them being shredded should I so desire!!

simply shred

is a shredding service. Go get the sacks, fill them up, take them back, pay per bag returned full & when they are shredded you get a certificate of destruction.

My local one in St Neots (Cambridge) charges £4.50 a sack (+VAT) - discount for bulk. If you want sacks delivered or the full ones collecting they will charge unless there is a lot &/or they happen to be passing your door. A sack takes apx 17kg or 1-2 archive boxes.

I currently tell my clients & others about this service but am thinking of doing a deal with them so that I charge £5 a bag & do the delivery & collection when I'm at my clients (save them the hassle) & hopefully pay a bit less to the the shredding company - all round winners? Just ironing out the details.

I love shredding - it's very therapeutic, I find!

Thanks All.

No Simply Shred close to me i am afraid.

Will give Rapide Reprographics a go as there is no charge.  They say i do not even need to buy their bags.

Shame no one has any experience of them. Will let you all know how it goes.

Just need to fill another 4 sacks first!!

Duty of care
Don't forget that all businesses have a Duty of Care in relation to waste produced at your business premises under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and applies to all businesses regardless of size.

If the local council walk in you will need all the paperwork!

Lyreco

We use Lyreco (the stationery company).

We purchase 5 bags at a time (£24 plus VAT) and they collect each bag as and when it is full at no additional cost.

The relevant paperwork is always filled out and signed to confirm that they will shred and dispose of according to the regulations.

Much more effective than sitting at the shredding machine for hours on end!
