Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for Large & Complex business

Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for Large &...

Didn't find your answer?

Group consisting of several companies and paying `000s employees and subbies every month has several PAYE issues outstanding with HMRC, i.e. they believe companies have shortpaid tax.

Whereas accounts reconcile perfectly and seems that all the fuss is because HMRC is jiggling the payments. Aparently they call it re-allocation :)

Have contacted HMRC every second week for the last few month and always get a call back from another officer who is now dealing with this case. Explaining everything over and over again to new person every second week does not seem to help resolve the issues.

I`ve read that SMEs that are big enough (fir the definition of Large & Complex business) should have a Single Point of Contact (SPoC) in Local Compliance office. Whereas the company have not had any communication about that.

Is it possible to contact Local Compliance and to ask for a Single Point of Contact (SPoC) to be allocated to the company? As otherwise do not believe HMRC will sort this situation out.

Will bring the topic up as the question is still outstanding.

Invetstigated all the options and read tens of HMRC`s manuals and guides - not a word is mentioned on how to ask HMRC to appoint a CRM or Customer Co-ordinator for the business.

Thinking of just sending a letter to Local Compliance office in Bootle explaining the situation and why we and HMRC would benefit from one person in HMRC dealing with group`s tax affairs.

Sounds like sensible thing to do?
