Single share transferred to joint ownership - paperwork?

Single share transferred to joint ownership -...

Didn't find your answer?

Hello everyone. If a single share is changed from being owned by one person to being owned by two people jointly (with the original person still being one of the two new owners, e.g. husband "adds" his wife to ownership of the share), what paperwork needs to be completed? A stock transfer form?

On a similar note, does anyone know of a reason why anyone would do this instead of, say, splitting the share into 100 shares and then giving/selling 50 to the other person?

Thanks!

Thanks. I thought as much, just trying to work out how on earth to fill it out! I guess number of shares transferred is 1 (not half) and the new owners is simply two names. Nil consideration so it doesn't need to be sent anywhere, but I'd like to get it right!
