Didn't find your answer?

Small Practitioners.. What do you use for invoicing?  Does anyone use VT for invoicing?  Is it difficult to create a good template with logos etc?

Im using excel at the moment, saving the doc as a pdf to send to clients and then inputting into VT.  Im wondering if there is an easier way?

If you use fixed fees paid by monthly standing order, do you invoice monthly or annually?

Thanks in advance

Xero

I use Xero, most clients pay in monthly instalments and receive monthly invoices - very easy to set up repeat invoices which are automatically e-mailed to clients each month.

VT

Very easy to setup the invoice template and the software emails a PDF copy at the click of a button.

I used to use VT, now Xero

VT was fine, setting up a template was straight forward enough.  I changed to Xero when I started using it simply because I can email the invoice out to the client from within Xero, so it took a step away, and because I can set up repeat invoices.  @Platform - I didn't realise you could email them from VT!

I have monthly fixed fees and I invoice monthly rather than annually.  I have thought long and hard about this but decided that the monthly contact is valuable - I use it as an opportunity to remind clients of key deadlines etc and generally to just stay in touch.  Invoicing monthly probably costs me half a day per month in time but I think it's worth it.

Accounts Portal

As much as I love VT it would be painful to use for monthly billing.

I use Accounts Portal it's SO easy to set up monthly billing.
