Subsistence Claims - Sole trader

My client attends the same 10 trade fairs each year. He sells his product at these trade fairs. This accounts for about 55% of his turnover.

Are the following costs allowable:

Hotels

Mileage

Food

Drinks

I'd be interested in your thoughts. My initial thought is that he can claim mileage and hotels but not subsistence as these trade fairs become his place of business.
