I am interested in whether any organisations are using any software to automatically match supplier statements against the accounting system data or is this still a manual process in your organisation?

Software 'scanning'?
Hi Dan,
No particular experience to offer, I'm afraid, but are you after software that will scan in the suppliers statement - or how are you going to get the statement into the system?
The reason I ask is that, if you were planning any keying in then presumably you could use Excel in conjunction with lookups to check the balances.
I am also interested in this thread - good question.
I actually do this for a living...
... And I know of no automated system. I have spoken with a number of companies and the problem always is getting the statements into a standardised electronic format without large amounts of rekeying
