Tax software recommendations

Tax software recommendations

Didn't find your answer?

I currently use Drummohr tax software which is due for its renewal and their subscriptions seem to have gone up and I am considering a change of software. I like Drummohr because it is easy to use. Can those who are sole practitioners out there recommend a good alternative. I am looking at BTC, any comments? I am just downloading the trial software now.

Many thanks for any comments or suggestions.

PTP

I know PTP has got a bit of a bad rep around here lately, apparently because of poor customer service.  I can't comment on this as I haven't had to call them for some time.

I'm happy with the price, it's very intuitive and does what I need it to.

WS.

BTC

I've been using BTC since Iris bought out Drumhohr (we suffered with PAYEMASTER and they never said sorry) and am very pleased with BTC - SA and CT600. Well priced, good spec - with a Practice Management addon if wanted - very good data transfer with Accounts software - we use VT. Excellent reports for client annual reminders. Although we avoid trusts, a CTA drinking partner nearby does a lot of Trust tax returns has recently switched and highly sings BTC's praises wishing she had changed when we did. Excellent support.

BTC

I've been using BTC for a year now and it's very hard to fault (not something I could say from my previous experience of Sage, Iris and CCH - who put the fault into faulty).

The PM/SA system from BTC is very reasonably priced and easy to use. The same is true of the CT programme.

Both populate accounts data easily from programmes like VT. The online filing modules for Companies House and HMRC are simplicity itself.

Not TaxCalc

Very, very, very disappointed with TaxCalc failure to respond to my query. Software is good. Their greed has got better of them.

Probably they are complacent now, with all those awards and people saying how good they are.
