Taxfiler

Taxfiler

Didn't find your answer?

My practice is just moving into it's second year. First year, with no significant initial investment, was hard and therefore to keep costs down I kept software costs as cheap as possible, being VT for accounts, Moneysoft for payroll and HMRC website for CT and SA returns.

I don't want to be spending a small fortune still but I need to move away from using HMRC's website, particularly as I have picked up a couple of partnership returns recently. I have stumbled across Taxfiler which looks pretty good, very cheap (£10 per month!) and cloud based is good too as I keep a very small, paperless office.

Does anyone have any experience of Taxfiler?

Following on from this, are there any good cloud based accounting software's that people can recommend. VT is obviously good and very cheap, but it can seem a bit clunky sometimes and I find myself having to more often than not do some editing on the accounts layout which can be time consuming. Any suggestions welcome!

Tax filer
I've had a decent look at tax filer at it looks a decent product.

I don't understand the clunky comments regarding VT and never customise the accounts.

Very good

Easy to use and as you say a good price, I use it for individuals, partnerships and companies.

Tax Filer

We have recntly transferred to tax filer and having submitted several CT600's feel it is a great product.

Dont find VT clunky at all and normally only have to adjust the company notes page which only takes a few seconds.

What is the plan for your business? If it's a casual thing then stay cheap software. If the business is long term then just bite the bullet and pay for proper stuff. You can get everything for about £2,000 which is probably your only cost if working from home?

Or use this TaxFiler effort and then ask the same question next year?? £2,000 is a few clients.

We're in the process of switching over to Taxfiler (from BTC) - the pricing is much lower (being able to scale user numbers up/down on a month by month basis will help with peak times) and the cloud approach has advantages for us.

We haven't used it on a live basis yet but have had a lot of discussions about some of the features we would like to see implemented - so far been very impressed with the support element and how receptive they are to incorporating our requests.

Ive used Taxfiler since I started last June, and found it to be excellent - a good product with great support. For a start up practice, where cash flow can sometimes be an issue, the monthly payment option is great. I would reccomend it to anyone, and i certainly consider it to be "proper stuff".

Tax Filer

How do you attach accounts when filing CT600 through Taxfiler?

It looks that Taxfiler can not do this.

@Lee_Harris

... Taxfiler is an absolute breath of fresh air, I have filed many personal tax returns and CT600s with it and it's a total breeze - brilliant, brilliant product.
