Taxfiler - SA100 - More efficient?

Taxfiler - SA100 - More efficient?

Didn't find your answer?

Apologies if this has been asked before - I know there are a lot of threads regarding tax software, but I couldn't see anything asking this specific question.

Like a number of small practices I have to date used the HMRC CT600 and SA100 software. I'll now have to move the commercial software for the CT600 and actually I've now progressed to the number of CT600 returns that it's probably just about worth it anyway, as the HMRC software has always been pretty slow and clunky.

I'm almost certainly going for Taxfiler, as the pricing seems pretty good to a small practice, in fact I will probably qualify for the £10+VAT for up to 50 returns for my first year or so using it and given the saving on buying a couple of partnership one off licences from Ftax the net cost to me will be pretty small.

What I'm wondering though (not having used the software, except in the trial environment) is does anybody who does use it for SA100s find it to be faster or more efficient than the HMRC offering? I've always found the HMRC SA100 web portal to be pretty decent, never had any cause for complaint.

Just a little!

It will take you (even on first go) less than half the time taken using the HMRC pile of crap.

Have used HMRC portal for a few years when started up. Then switched to BTC and am now with Taxfiler and finding it the best one to my liking so far.
Tried it in preparing SA100, CT600 and simple accounts. Easy to use and a bargain at its price (thouh the option to change the narrative in accounts would be very handy).

We use Taxfiler for tax

It's the most efficient tax software I have ever used, and I have used many including some very expensive offerings.

I haven't used Taxfiler accounts, as I am well smitten by VT and it's flexibility.

Tax Filer - CT600

I recently started using Tax Filer specifically for CT600 work, in comparision to thre other CT600 products it was found to be very user-friendly and bug-free.

For the record the other three CT600 products that I am comparing TaxFiler with are:

HMRC's own CT600 .pdf - very time consuming to use, complicated / time-consuming settings changes within Adobe, Capital Allowancves data input sometimes difficult to get right (I reckon TaxFiler halves the time involved compared to HMRC's own Edward Tuck rubbish .pdf)Sage old [OneSource] CT600 software - difficult to use, errors occur that sometimes are difficult to resolve, often incorrect tax liability shown in the CT600 because of duplicated add backs or capital allowances etc (caused by unintuitive interface / misleading onscreen messages)Sage new CT600 software - at times difficult to follow through the full process, sometimes incomprehensible error codes generated (as with the older Sage One Source product)

I've used Taxfiler for almost a year now and for me it's the best software I've come across. It's very user friendly and great value for money.
