Temporarily Suspend a Ltd Company

Temporarily Suspend a Ltd Company

Didn't find your answer?

Dear All

I would like to temporarily suspend my limited company. Although I am not working at the moment, I don't want to close the company because I want the option to be able to do contract work in the future.

Is it possible to do this?

I've had a look at the Companies House website, but can't find any details about this.

Any advice would be gratefully received - thanks.

.

"dormant" is what you are thinking of.

Might however be easier to close it, and open a new one if you go contracting again.

Yes - you'll still need to file accounts every year, though.

Again, not sure it's your best option. It depends how long you expect to be dormant. Months - fine.  Years - probably not. Remember it only costs about £40 to set up a company these days.
