Is there any way to recover my Outlook data?

Didn't find your answer?

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with Outlook 2007. I am trying to import a data file that I have placed on my desktop called outlook.pst. I am getting an error message stating " C:\...\outlook.pst is not an Outlook data file (.pst).

The Outlook.pst is outlook file but its saying is not and outlook file. Is there anything wrong? That sounds weird. ScanPST.exe after launch, says that can't repair the file.

Please post if you have any suggestion. Thank you.

Kernel for Outlook PST repair is a tool I found very useful in stitching together various Outlook files when I went to Windows 7.

Best solution

The very best solution for the future is to stop using Outlook, which uses a storage method designed by a moron. The solution is to move to a better designed mail client such as Thunderbird, or migrate to a decent cloud service such as gmail.

Appropriate solution
Hey friend, Don't worry...a manual solution is there by which you can repair your PST files of Outlook. Scanpst.exe utility is the inbuilt tool by executing which, you can repair your damaged PST file. You just need to follow some easy steps while executing this utility. To know the steps, you can visit this blog post: http://www.microsoftoutlook.repair/ I am sure Outlook Repair Kit will help you to repair your damaged Outlook PST files.

Is that not the very utility that the OP said did not work, or am I missing something?

@healthpay

I am afraid I am not technical enough to help with the query but to advise moving to a service such as gmail - really?

Isn't this the service that proudly announced in court recently that none of it's customers should regard their emails as private, and don't we deal in virtually 100% private information?????????

@Marion Hayes

If you take what is said out of context then you can justify any position

Are you sure that the file on your desktop is the .pst file & not a shortcut to it?

Recover Outlook Data

There are two methods available to repair your corrupt PST. You can use free method and advance method. Free method has some limitations like it would not repair PST files whose size is more than 2GB. I would suggest you to use advance PST repair method to recover your Outlook data. Try Stellar Phoenix PST Repair software you will get back your data in few clicks only.

To recover your corrupt or damaged Outlook PST file without data alteration use professional outlook repair software Stellar Phoenix Outlook PST Repair and get repaired your corrupt Outlook PST file. I also use this software to repair my 30GB Outlook 2013 PST file.
