Tolls

Tolls

Didn't find your answer?

I have a self employed client who has to pay a road  toll to get to work every day.He has worked on same site every day for over 2 years.

Fully accept that this negates any claim for  travel to work however he has motor expenses for running around collecting bits and pieces etc.accordingly at present we claim 15% of all motor running costs.

My question is should I include the road tolls in calculation of all motor expenses ?

My thoughts are that they should be excluded from calculation and no claim made however I would appreciate others views of this point.

The amounts involved are very small but knowing the client he will ask about them. Net tax about £50.

Many thanks for any replies.

Based on the information above the more fundamental question of whether this person is actually self-employed might need to be addressed.

Apologies if with all the info this isn’t actually an issue.

Thanks for response but the employment status is not in doubt.
