I am self employed and completing my tax return. I thought I'd be able to claim my wifes unused personal allowance to myself on the return form but there doesn't seem the facility to do this. How do I make the claim for 2015/16. I'm a base rate tax payer and my wife doesn't work at all

Well for starters.....
.... you cannot claim all of it - only 10%. And you are no more than a basic rate taxpayer I assume?
I don't think there is anywhere to claim it on the Return itself - but it will form part of the tax calculation.
Not entirely sure though - only got the new software today, and not had time to properly digest it all.
How are you completing your Return? Paper? Online?
No, but....
... has your wife already elected to give up part of her allowance? If so, then I believe HMRC will amend your tax calculation when your Return goes in as they will already have a record of it.
If she hasn't already elected to a transfer...... sorry, not sure what happens. It's all a bit "new". Hopefully someone on here can point you in the right direction, though...
Marriage allowance
It's not on your tax return. Nor would it be on hers, if she had one. Because you need to make a joint claim.
You need to go to the home page of HMRC's site and type "Marriage Allowance" into the search box.
Forgiveness
Forgive me, lion, but that's not quite right.
The Marriage Allowance is not a "joint" claim as such, but a transfer of entitlement by the spouse/civil partner who wishes to transfer it to her "other half".
Basil.
Consider yourself forgiven, Basil.
However, either way, t'interweb is the quickest way to get what he needs.
Digita
Personal return contains a personal allowance screen with a Marriage allowance tab.
The other information screen now has a tick box for claiming Universal credit
