Scenario :
An employee travels from home (let's say, Sunderland) to the local Sunderland office of his employer.
He then travels from the local office in Sunderland to the national office in Wales where he is required to stay for a duration of 3 months to work.
On return he travels from the national office to the local office and then to home.
This happens about threee times per year.
His employer does not reimburse any travel costs.
Now, I think you might know where I am going with this....
Can he submit a claim for the travel from the local office to the national office and vice-versa?
Travel from home to office is now allowable but travel from one workplace to another is, according the guidance, allowable.
Just seems....... well, a slight manipulation of allowable deductions. Or maybe more then slight?

No....
.....from local to national is fine I would say. The local is the normal place of work.
