Treatment of due dilligence / arrangement fees on refinancing

Treatment of due dilligence / arrangement fees...

Didn't find your answer?

My company (which I am new to) recently refinanced to issue preference shares and debt to a private equity investor.  The previous accountant had recorded all the arrangement fees and due dilligence costs against share premium which I believe is incorrect

Can these fees be capitalised and written off over the term of the loan / prefs - where would this sit in the balance sheet/P&L

Thanks

Sarah
