US Military who purchase UK Property whilst serving in the UK. Are they entitled to UK Personal allowance on IFP income when residing back in US ?.

I suspect he is on secondment and is paid via US military sevices so IT is paid in the US not the UK. He will be resident in the US and not in the UK. Perhaps you need more facts. Regards Peter

Hi Peter

When in the UK he was on secondment and paid via US military services. Tax return was filled in showing rental income (as US employment didnt have to be decalred) and he was allowed PA even though he was classed as non resident.

Now however he has returned to US still working in military, I believe they are no longer entitled to UK personal allowance concession whilst back in the States.

Client thinks that he is, just want to find some actual proof to email him showing him the correct treatment.
