VIZTOPIA and the ACCOUNTANTS REPORT

VIZTOPIA and the ACCOUNTANTS REPORT

Didn't find your answer?

I am using some Accountants to produce some Limited Company Accounts for me and convert them to iXBRL.
They use Viztopia.

On the Accountants Report to the Board of Directors, they tell me that when they enter CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS under their firms name at the bottom of the page, the Heading of the Report then apparently automatically calls it a CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS REPORT ...at the top!!!!
They tested it by changing their title to CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANTS and the Heading came out to CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANTS REPORT...

Is this correct? Or are they entering it in the wrong 'box'? Is there a different way to be able to add CHARTERED to the page with their name, BUT at the same time just call it a ACCOUNTANTS REPORT, which is the correct Heading?

A less important issue, is that when they enter their address on the same page, the Firms Name and Title appear on the left of the page, but the Address appears on the right under the dotted line for the signature. Is this how Viztopia works?

In my experience

Viztopia is a nightmare.   We had a lot of problems with the Accountants report and have now changed to VT

Sorry I know that doesn't help you

We offer this service to other accountants too

Um... CCH Support?

Can't this firm just call CCH and get an answer?

ICAEW AAF02

The default heading you are seeing is in accordance with examples provided in the Technical Release from the Institute ICAEW AAF02 "Chartered Accountants’ reports on the compilation of financial statements of incorporated entities (updated November 2010 with the CCAB compilation report)". However, if you do not wish the heading to be in this format it is very easy to change your practice master formats so that this no longer appears on any client.

Our support department will be able to assist you in doing this, alternatively please contact me direct after Tuesday next week when I am back in the office, and I can advise you how to do this.

Thanks to you all. I have to bow to the other firm's choice, but I'm not sure they knew why it was happening!

To Paul B: They are Chartered, but have ACCA issued the same Guidance?

ACCA Guidance

The guidance from ACCA is not the same as that from ICAEW. We ship two version of the accountants report, one for Chartered and one for members of other bodies. The alternative does not have Certified in the title of the report and has slightly different wording in references in the body of the report.

Solution

The solution to this problem is to output to a RFT file and edit that in word.
