Although it isn't a blog

Without a doubt, accounting web is the best free resource around.

Accounting Web

AW does have a number of helpful blogs, so they provide a good start. (Modesty prevents me from picking one out!)

Another vote for AccountingWEB here

As someone who's part-way through his AAT Level 4 studies, I've learned a lot from reading the Any Answers section on a regular basis. There really is a tremendous wealth of information given on this site and it's given me a lot of perspective on accountancy in the real world (since we all know it's never the same as what they tell us in the textbooks!).

So yeah, AccountingWEB gets my vote :)

For some light relief

Murphy Richards - http://justicefortaxesnetwork.wordpress.com/

Can't go too far wrong with AccountingWeb though

I suspect everyone has their own favourites

Are you after free technical updates? Commentary on accounting devs? on tax devs? Practice focused advice and tips? Something else?

AccountingWeb covers all that and a lot more as has been noted above.

I think you may be the same @DavidAdviser who has just joined twitter and started to follow me. Thanks for that and for the nomination there for #economia50

You'll find I regularly post tweets linking to my own practice tips and advice blog for accountants. Whether anyone will suggest it is 'the best blog for practitioners to follow' is open to doubt of course. I would hope that it is up there, as one of the best, but that's simply my ambition and does depend on what it is you are after.

I also enjoy Murphy Richards ramblings - in sharp contrast to those of his namesake!

@DavidAdvisor

bookmarklee asked, but you didn't answer. What sort of blog are you looking for? Technical, practice management, tax, easy reading, what?

We can help you better if you give us more info or feedback.

Sorry, for not replying, I've been away

I wasn't looking for something in particular.

Really just any blogs to help UK practitioners.
