Best Cloud-based Payroll Software for Accountants?

What is the Best Cloud-based Payroll Software...

Didn't find your answer?

Hello everyone,

I currently use Kashflow payroll but I'm not particularly happy with it. It's not very user-friendly and a bit rigid in my opinion.

Can anyone recommend a good cloud payroll software for accountants that is very user friendly and more flexible. In terms of flexibility, I mean a software that allows weekly, monthly, and annual pay frequency with all other flexibility an accountant require in operating a payroll system.

Thanks for your response.

The Payroll Site

I have used The Payroll Site for a number of years for some clients and it is excellent. It is cloud based and very easy to use. And their technical support team are exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. I'd recommend it.

Does it have to be cloud software

You could look into Brightpay, which seems to be gathering popularity. Not cloud, but if you are willing to be flexible. Feature-rich system and excellent support from previous comments.

Brightpay going Cloud

Brightpay is gaining popularity indeed. It is excellent for everything plus AE. Cloud is to be introduced very shortly.. The link is already there on the 16/17 payroll. CIS is now included as well.

Payroo
I've only tried Payroo in the cloud. Works well for free. Doesn't look great.

But I recently moved all to BrightPay principally for AE functionality. Better overall product. There's a cost of course but bureau licence is good value.

In addition to that there are no on top extras. For £199 + VAT for the unlimited bureau version it's excellent value with excellent support.

Cloud payroll costs

Be careful when picking a cloud payroll solution if you think that your practice may grow. Some of them seem cost-effective if you only have a couple of payrolls to manage, but costs scale up dramatically as the number of schemes and employees grows, to a significant multiple of the cost of unlimited scheme Bureau versions of some of the fine desktop PC solutions that are available.

Cloud it!

You can make BrightPay available from the cloud by hosting it within a Remote Desktop System. We do this for clients now.

BrightPay the most popular option

Thank you all for the suggestions. BrightPay seems like the most popular option from the comments received thus far. I'll make a decision on this in the next couple of days.

Once again, thank you all!

@TomMcClelland is right. Whatever solution you choose make sure there are no additional charges for extra employees or extra clients.

I don’t use a hosted desktop but a friend who recommended BrightPay to me does. I haven’t heard of any problems.

I started using BrightPay last year and I find it great, especially for auto enrolment. I did a demo which I booked on their website, downloaded the 60 day free trial and decided to go for it. No regrets!

Give the demo a go - https://www.brightpay.co.uk/pages/book-BrightPay-Demo/.

Best of luck!
