What do you think of AccountingWEB's email bulletins?

What do you think of AccountingWEB's email...

Didn't find your answer?

We are just starting out on a project to make our various email bulletins "responsive" so that they'll display equally well in a PC email program such as Outlook as on a smartphone or tablet.

The first starting point for a project like this is to find out what you think of the current format, and to see whether you have any suggestions to make it better. We currently send out six different bulletins and we try to minimise the impact on your in-box by directing them to different interest groups within the community (General membership; Insider; Tax; Practice management; Business; Technology; Excel).

Do you feel you get the right mix of information and debate from the different bulletins that you receive?

Are they too long - or too short?

Do you receive and read the bulletins on your smartphone, or tablet. Or do you prefer printing it off and reading it later on the train or at home?

Do you like to see pictures and logos, or would you prefer to read just text?

Are there things that you'd like to see more of - for example, relevant Any Answers queries, blog posts or discussion threads? Or perhaps more technical or management accounting material?

What do you think of the way our advertisers are presented? Do you ever click any of their links?

Feel free to post any relevant comments here, but if you're really interested in what we're doing you can continue to share your views with us in the AccountingWEB feedback group.

No real problem with the current bulletins

John

Current bulletins seem fine (once they get past our e.mail filter). They have just enough info to let me decide if i want to click on the link or ignore.

I am not a "mobile user" so won't comment on that interation.

The only time i click on an advert is when those annoying ones that take up the top third of the screen actually push the main text down just a millisecond before i click on an Aweb link. I am pretty much immune to most forms of advertising, (i think) so i tend to not really see them.

It's All Good
I like it all. Just started reading AnyAnswers on my Android phone when I have nothing else to do, so very time efficient.

I like it

I think I get tax and practice management. It seems well structured. I have a cursory look at the top headlines, sometimes read a story from there. Then I scan "any answers" and often open all 3 and review them.

Hope that helps. Very useful. The best of all my email updates.

No change

I like the current format.  Easy to quickly scan and decide whether to delve deeper if of interest.  Works well on my Windows phone and ipad too as pictures not downloaded automatically condensing the visual length of the email. Magic!

BULLETINS

If it aint broke, don't fix it! Current format is fine for me - sufficient lead info to indicate whether I should read further. ALWAYS look at any answers - Old and grey that I am, I'm never too old to learn! And there's perverse comfort in knowing I'm not the only one with problem clients or HMRCitis. Rarely look at adverts though; too busy with chargeable work and I only research new sources when need, time or funds demand.  Keep up the good work, and keep sending!
