Ease of finding dox is important
In any filing / data storage system the ability to rapidly find any given document is essential.
There are several ways to achieve this:
Tagging of documents (and ability to search by tag)No restriction (or limited restriction on file name length)Really effective ways to find documents by part of a file nameUse of widely used file formats rather than one-software-writer's own unique file typeSpeed with which documents can be saved into desired folders &/or taggedData back up (cloud based) could be a bonus (in case of host HDD getting errors)
