Where can I get Quickbooks help

Where can I get Quickbooks help

Didn't find your answer?

I have to get a new system installed and running before our next FY starts (in April), and I'm veering towards Quickbooks at the moment. I'd like to see a demo though on a live system. Does anyone know if there's somewhere/someone in the Manchester area who could help me with this?

Try the interwebthingy

There are likely to be demos there, probably on the QB website. God knows why you would choose Quickbooks though.

@cparker87

Didn't mean this to be a discussion of accounting systems, but ok I'll bite.

So what's up with QB then?

Whats wrong with it.

I have been using QB since 2004.

Its fine because it does what I want it to do. It certainly does it better than Line 50.

I am not familiar with the newer versions, but I have no need to change.

I wouldn't use my version in a  multi-user environment, but then mine is pre SQL. I also don't like some of the flexibility in my version, e.g. the ability to simply delete a transaction. Fine if you own the business, but not if your staff can do it.

A few years ago QB did away with country specific versions and in the process removed some key functionality. I believe they have addressed this since, but certainly didn't do their PR any good.

In summary, I hope I wouldn't simply question someones choice without explaining why, but nor would I answer a query about systems without knowing what it is to be used for.

QB is ok

Ok so QB has many annoying points (or rather their Helpline staff & customer services can be very annoying - no help without costing lots of money!) but overall I would recommend QB for small businesses, over Sage 50. In my opinion, QB reports are easier to run - most items on reports can be easily 'drilled down'; the invoicing & billing facilities are more straightforward for those who are not from an accounting background; mistakes are easier to rectify & amendments to existing transactions are simple to add. Your type of business may be a factor in your choice as you may want to use some of the facilities that are in Sage but not QB & vice versa.
