Here's a situation I've not come across in 40 years of practice.
A new client split with his girlfriend and now lives on a narrow boat. He does not have a permanent mooring and has to move every two weeks or so.
From a tax point of view what is his address?

Not sure on that one
The Big Red Boat, River Thames, Berkshire? Seriously, I would imagine that he would need an accommodation address or virtual office or something similar. Maybe a relative's address.
Residential Address
If I were your client, I would be wary about going any length of time without a residential address. Modern bureaucracy renders it almost impossible to make the most trivial arrangements without one (including trying to rent a new home).
Residential address
I agree. I have a client who has a "virtual life" and has several addresses a year but ensure I have one fixed address for tax purposes (somewhere that his post can be checked - eg parent, adult son). Makes life simpler.
Money laundering procedures
So how did you complete your money laundering procedures, which require you to verify the client ID and his address?
Postal address
In many parts of the world, including most of Africa, Papua New Guinea, the Australian outback, there is no postal delivery and one has to rent a post office box at the nearest post office.
