Whillans 1965/66

Whillans 1965/66

Didn't find your answer?

Good afternoon all,

I have a colleague who's birthday is approaching along with a 50th anniversary of working in tax. We are after a copy of Whillans tax tables (or equivalent) for 1965/66 for the purpose of a presentation. Not sure it would have been a book back then, probably more like a leaflet. We've tried the publishers but to no avail. Just thought it might be worth asking on here to see if anyone had any ideas on how to source something like this?

Thanks in advance.

AbeBooks?

You could try abebooks.co.uk - they specialise in second-hand and out-of-print books.  You might be lucky!

Google

Stick it into the search engine.

Amazing what it turns up sometimes.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

lionofludesch - that link was very helpful, thanks.

Haven't quite found what we're after yet but that's probably where it will pop up.

My first year was 1988/89, I've got that one safely stashed!

There was certainly a 1969 edition

It seems that Amazon had a 1969 edition in stock until recently !

How about trying the ICAEW Library

A few years ago they sold (for a nominal sum!) a copy of Spicer and Pegler;s Bookkeeping and accounts (1959) and Ranking Spicer and Pegler's Executorship Law and Accounts (1945)

The earliest I have on my bookshelf is the Revised Twenty-Third Edition of Whillans's for 1970-71 (fully decimalised), sold at 10s or 50p in new money.

Count back and you'll work out which edition you want.
