Window replacement cost £7k rented out property

Window replacement cost £7k rented out property

Didn't find your answer?

Being supplied 4th April, fitted asap after that

Will this have to be entered into 2013-14 Year or is there a case to call it 2012-13?

Snow held up the delivery and installation dates but know that's no excuse..

I would probably use the date on the invoice. It would be your safest option.

Or if they are being supplied by one firm and fitted by another then use the suppliers invoice date and the fitters invoice date as a basis of checking which tax year.

I very much doubt the inland revenue would have any problem to which year you put it in.

Hope this helps.

Seems you have purchased anyway so should be in 2012/2013 even if not fitted.....

Two parts

I agree if you are preparing accounts to 5th April and delivery is on 4th April, the cost of the windows should be in the 2012/13 tax year.

However, you shouldn't include in the 2012/13 tax year the cost of installation if that is not happening until after 5th April.
